Bart van de Roer

PIANO

Bart’s work as a pianist is divided between giving concerts, mostly of the chamber music repertoire, and teaching. He studied at Amsterdam’s Sweelinck Conservatory under Jan Wijn; other teachers included György Sebök, Menahem Pressler and Eugen Indjic. He teaches principal-study classical piano and chamber music at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam. His work there is geared towards passing on to the next generation his enthusiasm for the endless possibilities offered by the piano.

Bart is a keen cook and enjoys trying out new recipes, both preparing and eating them. He is also a fanatical runner, both trail and road, and can be found three times a week running in the heathland and woods around Hilversum, doing his best to keep up his 1:40 half-marathon time.
